Zuill Bailey is a Grammy Award-winning American cellist, widely regarded as one of today's premier soloists, known for his emotive artistry, technical mastery, and engaging presence. A graduate of Peabody and Juilliard, he performs on a 1693 Matteo Goffriller cello, has topped the classical charts with recordings including the complete Bach Cello Suites, and won a 2017 Grammy for Best Classical Instrumental Solo. He serves as Artistic Director of the Sitka Music Festival, El Paso Pro-Musica, and Juneau Jazz & Classics, and teaches at the University of Texas at El Paso.
The Ulysses Quartet formed in 2015 and includes members from Canada, the United States, and Taiwan, with degrees from Juilliard, the Manhattan School of Music, and Yale. They won the grand prize and gold medal at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, first prize at the Schoenfeld International String Competition, and first place in the American Prize, and recently completed a residency as GBH Music's inaugural quartet-in-residence in Boston. The Strad praised "the kind of chemistry many quartets long for, but rarely achieve."
